Chart Reading Workshop with Pam

Do you find knitting charts to be daunting? If so, then this workshop is perfect for you! We will cover everything you need to know to confidently begin working with knitting charts. Once you get the hang of it, you may find that you prefer reading charts to using written text instructions.

Students will learn the following:

  • The difference between reading a chart when working flat or in the round

  • Understanding symbols and chart repeat markings

  • What to do when even rows are not charted

  • What does “no stitch” mean and why is it in the chart?

Materials to bring with you to class: 

  • Small amounts of yarns in any weight that you feel comfortable knitting

  • Bring straight needles AND 9”, 12” or 16” circulars in a needle size appropriate for your yarn

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Must know how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off
