Knitting 102: My First Stranded Colorwork with Pam (In-Person only)



Are you curious about stranded colorwork?  Here’s your chance to try this technique in a small project that is packed with skills to add to your toolbox! You can do it! 

Think of this project as a mini sweater for your coffee cup. In this class, you will learn stranded colorwork to create a classic fair-isle pattern while working in the round. You have the choice of using 9” circulars (for small circumference knitting in the round), DPNs, or Magic Loop.

This class is available as In-Person only.

Skills you will learn:

  • Reading a pattern

  • Knitting in the round on 9” circulars, DPNs, or Magic Loop

  • Chart reading

  • Stranded Colorwork 

  • Weaving in ends

Skills you already need to have:
Students should be comfortable with casting on, knit and purl stitches, binding off.

Materials to bring the the first class:
  • Pattern-Bougainvillea Coffee Cup Cozy by Angela Bliss (pattern available for free on Ravelry)

  • Yarn- Sport weight

    • Small amounts each of 3 different colors

      • MC

      • CC1

      • CC2

  • Needles:

    • US4 (3.5 mm)-- 9” circular needles OR DPNs OR 40” circular needles (for Magic Loop)

    • US6 (4.0 mm)-- 9” circular needles OR DPNs OR 40” circular needles (for Magic Loop)

  • Stitch marker

  • Darning needle


Skill Level: Beginner
