Virtual Class - Knit Companion for Yearlong KAL Participants

This is a virtual class taught on Zoom. Pam will send out login information prior to class.

This special knitCompanion workshop is exclusively for participants of the 2024 Yearlong KAL Twists & Turns. The focus of the class will be on setting up the Hana pattern by Junko Okamoto in knitCompanion. You will learn how to set up and color code your charts and chart keys.

Basic knowledge of knitCompanion isn't required, but will be very helpful. If you have never used this app before we recommend downloading and trying it out prior to class.

Skills you will learn:

  • Set up HANA pattern in the app

  • Create chart pieces in the app

  • Color code charts to denote different cable crosses, stitches

  • Color code chart keys to match charts

Materials to bring to class:
  • Devices with internet connection (ipad, tablet, phone, laptop, desktop, etc)

    • Most current version knitCompanion app already loaded on chosen device

    • Preferable to join Zoom class from a device OTHER THAN the one on which knitCompanion is loaded so that you are able to view class instruction on one and have ability to work within the knitCompanion app on the other. .

  • HANA pattern loaded into knitCompanion

NOTE: For this class, you must have Setup & Essentials loaded in order to set up charts and customize your pattern.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Prior knowledge of knitCompanion app will be helpful.
Requirements: Must have Setup & Essentials loaded on knitCompanion app, purchased copy of Hana pattern from Ravelry
