Knitting 102: My First Hat with Pam

In this class, you will use the beginner knitting techniques you’ve already learned to complete your first hat. You will also learn how to knit in the round. 

This is a great unisex hat. You might find yourself wanting to make one for everyone on your Christmas list!

Skills you will learn:

  • Pattern reading

  • Knitting in the round

  • Invisible join for knitting in the round

  • Twisted knits in ribbing

  • Body of hat is knit in-the-round on 16” circulars, and the crown is finished with double pointed needles or a longer circular using magic loop

  • Weaving in ends

Skills you already need to have:
Cast on

Materials to bring to the first class:

  • Pattern- Bankhead Hat by Susie Gourlay (available FREE on Ravelry)

  • Yarn- 200 yds Worsted Weight

  • Needles-

    • US7 16” circulars

    • US7 double pointed needles or US7 32” circulars (if you wish to learn Magic Loop)

  • Stitch marker

  • Darning needle
