Crochet Animal Squares Blanket with Ute

Create textured elements such as fluffy manes, shaggy fur and frilly tentacles, and crochet three-dimensional elements such as ears, eyes, horns, beaks and wings to bring the animals to life by crocheting a granny square! You can choose to make a washcloth, or a pillow/wall hanging or the blanket.  In class we will cover the basic techniques used to create these beautiful animals, joining and finishing your piece. The result of your labor makes wonderfully tactile gifts featuring a whole menagerie of animal friends. Just pick and choose your favorites or do them all. 

This class is intended for intermediate crocheters comfortable will all basic techniques.

What you will learn:

• Feel comfortable create various critters by applying techniques learned in class.

Materials:

Patterns:  All-New Twenty to Make:  Animal Granny Squares by Sarah-Jane Hicks available for purchase at Amazon or in other bookstores.

Yarn:  Depending on what you want to make:

• Washcloth:  pick you design and purchase cotton to match it.  You could use any weight yarn like dk, worsted or bigger.  

• Pillow/Wall hanging: any weight yarn, choose the colors you want

• Blanket: The book uses dk weight yarn, lots of small amounts of leftovers if you have them. I will have some I can share. Please buy an extra skein of yarn for the color you want to use for joining and the border.  I used a light grey in my sample and that is what is used in the book.
