Mosaic Work: Pressed Flowers Hat with Ute

Have you ever wanted to knit with multiple colors, but were hesitant? Mosaic knitting is one form of color work, where you only use one color at a time. This class provides an introduction to the technique by knitting a beautifully textured hat.  You will also learn how to work from a chart.

What you will learn:

  • Color technique (mosaic knitting)

  • Reading a knitting chart

Materials you need to bring with you to the first class:  

  • Pattern:  Pressed Flowers Hat by Amy Christoffers, available to purchase on Ravelry 

  • 225 yds of sport weight yarn, approximately 150 yds main color, 75 yds contrast color

  • US 3 and 5 16” and a set of double pointed needles in size 5

  • Stitch markers

  • Tapestry needle

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Must know knit and purl stitches, joining in the round, and decreases
