Rigid Heddle 102: Houndstooth with Keyser
In this class we will make a classic Houndstooth scarf.
Houndstooth is a versatile pattern that is deceptively easy to weave.
Students will learn:
* How to warp a two toned pattern.
* Hemstitching and when to use it.
* How to weave with two colors at the same time, manage two shuttles and keep your edges tidy.
Skills you already need to have:
-You need to have basic rigid heddle weaving knowledge, including how to warp
-Perfect next step if you've taken our Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving class!
Materials needed for class:
-Rigid heddle loom with heddle appropriate for worsted weight yarn
(Looms are available for rent from Dances With Wool for additional $35 fee - credit card information and signed rental contract required and MUST be completed at the shop BEFORE the first class)
-Yarn for warp and weft: (2) 100g skeins of two different colors of Worsted weight or DK yarn
Recommended: That your colors be highly contrasted. Please feel free to ask for help at the shop if you need help with this.
-Fabric scissors
-Tape measure
-Craft paper or cut paper grocery bags for warp separation
