Sweater Project Class - Weekender with Pam



This class will feature the Weekender Sweater by Andrea Mowry. This drop shoulder sweater is certain to become a favorite addition to your handmade wardrobe! It combines faux seams, drop shoulders, and positive ease to create a versatile, flattering sweater. No matter your body type, it is perfect for wearing to the office or out on your weekend hike in the woods. As a bonus, you will learn some great skill-building techniques over the course of making this sweater.

If you have been wanting to attempt a first sweater project, this is the perfect opportunity!

Students are provided ample time between classes to accomplish the knitting required so they can be prepared to learn each "next step" without feeling rushed.

Complete a versatile handknit wardrobe piece while learning several skill-building techniques:
Learn to knit a split hem with tubular cast on that is then joined in the round to knit the body seamlessly

Work the body of the sweater inside out to create reverse stockinette which shows on the outside of the sweater

Neck bind off accomplished with Kitchener Stitch

Bind off shoulders using a three needle bind off which creates an attractive exposed seam

Materials you will need before the first class:
The Weekender pattern by Andrea Mowry (available on Ravelry - can also be purchased at the shop)

Yarn: 915-1910 yards of worsted weight yarn (based on size selected)

Needles:
    US 9 40" circular
    **May also want to have a US 9 12" circular for knitting sleeves (smaller circumference)
    US 8 40" circular
    **May also want to have a US 8 12" circular for knitting sleeve cuffs
    US 7 40" circular

Stitch markers (4)

Tapestry needle

Stitch holders or waste yarn
