Crochet 101 with Angela

Have you dreamed of learning to crochet? This beginning crochet class will consist of two, 1.5 hours sessions held over two consecutive weeks. Please make sure that you can attend both sessions before enrolling in the class.
In Crochet 101 you will learn basic concepts of crochet including: choosing the best yarns for your projects, hook types and styles, tensioning yarn, and basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet). At the completion of this class and homework assignments, you will have the skills required for Crochet 102 classes or to start your own project!
Students will learn:

Yarn weight differences, best practices for using yarn with out dreaded tangles
- How to pair yarn types with various projects.

Basic concepts (anatomy of a hook, proper way to hold your hook, yarn tensioning, and yarn overs)

Basic Stitches (chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet)
- Learning stitch placement
- Learning to count your crochet stitches, as well as to recognize the right and wrong side of these stitches.

Materials to bring to the first class (sold separately):

Size I or 5.5mm crochet hook (If you own a variety of hook sizes or styles, bring them with you to class)
- 100 grams or one skein of worsted weight yarn in a light color so that your stitches are more visible.
