Knitting 911! Fixing Basic Knitting Mistakes With Pam

Have dropped stitches got you down? Did you just spot a mistake a few rows back and dread the thought of ripping back? No worries! Pam will show you how to easily fix many of the basic mistakes made by new and seasoned knitters alike.

What you will learn:

  • Pick up dropped stitches

  • “Ladder down” to fix a mistake several rows back

  • Unknitting, or “tinking” back

  • Fix an added yarn over

  • Prevent working the first stitch of a row as two stitches (those who take a beginner class with me learn this in Knitting 101)

  • Rip out rows - insert a lifeline or smaller needle to make ripping back a breeze

  • Prevent and fix twisted stitches - learn about stitch orientation on the needle

  • Fix a split stitch

Materials to bring to workshop:

  • Two 4” swatches knit in garter stitch AND two 4” swatches knit in stockinette stitch

  • US8 needles (or size you used to knit up your swatches)

  • US E, F, or G crochet hook.

  • Locking stitch markers

  • Tapestry needle

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Class will be especially geared toward new knitters, but seasoned knitters wanting to learn more about correcting mistakes are welcome.
