My First Pair of Socks with Ute
Sock knitting is always exciting and entertaining. First of all the yarns to select from are fabulous from self-striping, self-patterning, to just inspiring color and material combinations. Secondly, you will learn a number of techniques that will enrich your knitting toolbox. Join us to learn to knit socks cuff down We will talk about the anatomy of a sock and you will learn to use the Kitchener stitching and more. We will be using the Basic Sock ala Jeanne pattern, which will allow you to choose the thickness of the sock you are knitting from fingering to worsted. The heavier the yarn the faster the knit ☺.
No prior sock knitting experience required. You only need to know how to cast on, knit, purl and basic decreases like knit 2 together (k2tog) and slip, slip knit (ssk).

Materials:
- Basic Socks ala Jeanne by Jeanne Shrader available on Ravelry
- Choose the amount of yarn stated in the pattern depending on the weight of yarn you choose.
- Needles specific for your yarn choice...DPN, Magic Loop technique will need at least a 32 inch cord or you can use two needles, 12 inches and same size.
