The Dohne Shawl with Pam In Person

In this class, you’ll create the Dohne Shawl (pronounced do-knee), named after the Dohne sheep. Dohne is worked flat from the right tip to the left edge with a built-in I-cord edge. Although it looks like cables, there is not one cable involved in the textured stitch pattern.There are 2 versions of this shawl: texture & garter and texture only. Class instruction will cover the texture and garter version.

Skills you will learn:

  • Chart reading (with fully written directions as back-up to stay on track)

  • Attached I-Cord edge

  • Textured stitches

  • Weaving in ends

Materials needed before the first class:

  • Pattern- Dohne Shawl by Gretha Mensen (available pattern on Ravelry)

  • Yarn- 787-875 yds DK/Worsted weight yarn 

  • Needles-

    • US 7 (4.50 mm) 24” circular needles

  • Stitch markers

  • Darning needle
