Zagtastic Shawl with Ute

If you cannot attend in person, Ute has the equipment to allow participants to attend through Zoom. Zoom information will be sent prior to the first class.

Have you ever wanted to knit with multiple colors, but were hesitant? Mosaic knitting is one form of color work, where you only use one color at a time. This workshop provides an introduction to the technique by knitting a beautiful shawl designed by Melanie Berg.  It provides a wonderful opportunity to explore color work in knitting. We will go over how to read charts, but the pattern also comes fully written out. Together we will explore this technique, talk about its origins, learn some new techniques, and end with a beautiful shawl!

Playful zigzags run the length of this elongated semi-circular shawl.  It looks more complicated than it is!

Skills you will learn:

  • color technique: mosaic knitting

  • Reading a knitting chart

  • Picot bind off

Pattern: Zagtastic by Melanie Berg.  Pattern available on Ravelry.
