Basic Top Down Sock Class with Ute


Join us to learn to knit socks cuff down on double pointed needles (dpn). We will work with double pointed needles, talk about the anatomy of a sock and you will learn to use the Kitchener stitching and more. No prior sock knitting experience required. You only need to know how to cast on, knit, purl and basic decreases like knit 2 together (k2tog) and slip, slip knit (ssk).

We have scheduled a number of sock workshops using different techniques throughout the next year to increase skills and learn different approaches. Take one or all four. If you sign up for an additional sock work shop before the end of this work shop, or sooner you receive a bundle discount of 10% off the class price. A coupon code will be provided.

The pattern (provided) will give you a choice of yarn weight, recommended for this class is dk, but select which suits you. The bigger the yarn, the faster the knitting.

100 - 150 g of dk weight yarn ( approximately 280 yds, depending on size)

Set of US 4 double pointed needles pattern (provided)

highlighter tape,

sock ruler,
